A Yucca Valley man is accused of stealing multiple guns from a family member and selling them. According to a Sheriff’s report, a resident in the 7300 block of Frontera Avenue in Yucca Valley noticed about noon on Saturday that between 10 and 12 guns were missing from his gun safe. The gun owner suspected a family member had stolen the guns and contacted the Sheriff’s Department. The suspect, identified as Jerad Mayhood, 21, allegedly admitted to the guns’ owner that he had taken the guns and sold them. Deputies located Mayhood at Machris Park in Yucca Valley about two hours later. Jerad Mayhood was arrested for investigation of grand theft firearm, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
