A Yucca Valley man was arrested Wednesday, accused of stealing from his 77-year-old relative. According to a Sheriff’s report, the elderly woman had given Bruce Drake, 68, her debit card multiple times in June and July to purchase food for them. However, she discovered that in addition to buying food, Drake had also withdrawn hundreds of dollars in cash from her bank account and she reported the thefts to the Sheriff’s Department July 26. After an investigation, Bruce Drake was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of elder abuse, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $150,000.
