A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday, accused of stealing a car. According to a Sheriff’s report, the vehicle’s owner called about 10 a.m. Friday to report his car had been stolen. About noon, the suspect, identified as Derrick Laub, 27, returned with the vehicle to the 5900 block of Balsa Avenue. The car’s owner told deputies that Laub, who lives in another house on the property, had broken into his home, taken the keys and drove off with the car, without his permission. Derrick Laub was arrested for investigation of grand theft auto, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
