YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF MAKING CRIMINAL THREATS

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Thursday, accused of making criminal threats. Deputies were called to the 7300 block of Hopi Trail in Yucca Valley about 11:45 a.m. Thursday because a witness said that Alejandro Ornelas, 21, was trying to steal an employee’s bicycle. When the owner confronted the suspect, Ornleas allegedly became argumentative, started spitting and yelling, and exposed himself to females next door. The bike’s owner said Ornelas threatened to kill the owner’s family, and since the owner had known Ornelas for several years, and Ornelas knew where the bike owner lived, the victim believed it to be a credible threat. Alejandro Ornelas was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats, and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000.
