YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF INTIMIDATING A WITNESS

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday, accused of attempting to intimidate a witness. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 7400 block of Elata Avenue in Yucca Valley about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday because Robert Utter, 41, was in front of a house where his ex-girlfriend was staying with a friend. The woman has a restraining order against Utter. When deputies arrived, Utter fled, and pushed and resisted deputies when they caught up to him, but they were able to detain him without further incident. Robert Utter was arrested for investigation of dissuading a witness, and on warrants for spouse abuse and burglary. Utter was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $500,000.
