YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF HITTING GIRLFRIEND

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Saturday after his former girlfriend said he hit her. According to a Sheriff’s report, Michael Douglas, 63, was arguing with the woman in the 7700 block of Inca Trail in Yucca Valley about 1 p.m. During the argument, the woman allegedly pushed Douglas in the right shoulder and Douglas pushed her back, causing her to fall. She told deputies that when she tried to get up, Douglas walked toward her, and because she was afraid he’d hit her, she swung at him first. Douglas blocked her blows and then allegedly punched her in the jaw and arm. Michael Douglas was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
