A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday after he gave a false name to a deputy. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped Alexander Alvarado, 30, about 8:20 a.m. near Yucca Trail and Warren Vista in Yucca Valley for littering. When the deputy asked Alvarado for his name, he gave a false name and date of birth. The deputy picked up a rolled up tissue Alvarado had thrown on the ground and discovered it contained a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. During a search of Alvarado’s backpack, the deputy located a citation made out in Alvarado’s name, at which time, Alvarado admitted that was his real name. When questioned about the false name he had given originally, Alvarado said he could not remember how he knew the date of birth of his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, whose name he had provided, and added that he gave a false name because he knew there were two warrants out for his arrest. After an investigation, Alexander Alvarado was arrested on suspicion of false impersonation, booked into West Valley Detention Center, and on two misdemeanor drug-related arrest warrants, with his bail set at $50,000.
