YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF FELONY VANDALISM FOR GRAFFITI AT SKATE PARKS

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday morning, accused of spray-painting graffiti at the skate parks in Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms. Sunday morning, an employee with the Town of Yucca Valley called to report that someone had used purple spray paint to paint messages on five areas in the skate park in the town’s community center park. Monday morning, an employee with the City of Twentynine Palms reported that its skate park had also been vandalized, and the graffiti was similar to that in Yucca Valley. Surveillance video showed a white man in his early 20 spray painting nine areas inside the skate park. School resource officers identified Paulix Ramirez, 20, as the suspect in both incidents. About 9:40 Friday morning, deputies served a search warrant at Ramirez’s home in the 7000 block of Emerson Avenue in Yucca Valley, and collected evidence linking Ramirez to the crimes. Paulix Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
