YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF FELONY SPOUSE ABUSE

A Yucca Valley man was arrested late Tuesday, accused of hitting his girlfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 56200 block of Navajo Trail in Yucca Valley about 7:30 p.m. The woman said her ex-boyfriend, John Sanchez, 61, started arguing with her, then hit her, giving her bruises and scratches on the face. Before Sanchez fled the scene, he allegedly threatened to kill her if she called law enforcement. Deputies located Sanchez about 11 p.m. and arrested him for investigation of felony spouse abuse. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $50,000.
