A Yucca Valley man was arrested in Arizona, accused of multiple sex crimes against a child and possession of child pornography. On August 15, detectives were alerted to continuous sexual abuse against a young child by Arthur Bowers, 66. Detectives learned from the victim that the abuse had occurred over a three-year period at the home they shared in Yucca Valley. Armed with a search warrant, detectives found several pieces of electronic evidence, and discovered additional crimes. By the time detectives presented the case to the District Attorney, Bowers had fled to Arizona. On October 23, the DA filed charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age, possession of child pornography, and four counts oral copulation of a minor under 10 years of age.
On October 29, agents from the U.S. Marshalls office located Bowers at a residence in Prescott, Arizona. Bowers was arrested without incident and booked into the Yavapai County Jail where he is being held on $2,000,000 bail. Arthur Bowers is awaiting extradition back to San Bernardino County.
