A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday (August 17) accused of burglary following an investigation that involved three separate law enforcement agencies. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies responded Monday (August 16) around 3:15 a.m. to a triggered burglary alarm at a construction company in the 56700 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. Arriving deputies cleared the area, discovering that the suspect, later identified as Michael Dean, 28, had fled on foot prior to their arrival. Deputies reviewed security footage at the location, which recorded Dean outside the property prior to the burglary.
During their investigation, Deputies learned that Dean had been arrested by National Park Service Rangers on Tuesday (August 17) for an outstanding $25,000 burglary warrant from the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station. Deane was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and later transferred to the West Valley Detention Center. On Thursday (August 19), Detectives executed a search warrant at the West Valley Detention Center for Deane’s property held at the facility. Detectives located and recovered stolen property from the Twin Peaks burglary among Deane’s possessions. Michael Deane was booked on the additional burglary charge and is being held on $50,000 total bail.
