A Yucca Valley man was arrested Saturday, accusing of beating up an elderly man. According to a Sheriff’s report, Lucas Mageno, 48, went to a home in the 57200 block of Castro Road in Yucca Valley about 7:30 p.m. looking for his girlfriend who works at the home. Deputies said Mageno confronted a 72-year-old man there and accused him of having an affair with his girlfriend, and then started beating up the victim. Mageno fled before deputies arrived, but was located in the 8200 block of Kickapoo Trail in Yucca Valley. Mageno barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come outside. There were several other people inside the home with Mageno, and because deputies could not verify that they were unharmed, they called out the Specialized Enforcement Division to take over the investigation. After several hours, the SED team entered the home and took Mageno into custody without further incident. The other residents were unharmed. Lucas Mageno was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and assault with a deadly weapon, booked into the Morongo Basin jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
