YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTED MURDER AFTER STABBING

A Yucca Valley man has been accused of attempted murder after a stabbing. Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Crowl said on Friday, August 26, deputies were called to a report of a stabbing in the 7100 block of Airway Avenue in Yucca Valley about 1:20 pm, . Responding deputies found the victim, a 53-year-old male resident of Yucca Valley, with serious injuries to his face. The victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Investigating deputies located the suspect, Stephen Algeo, 59, of Yucca Valley, nearby. Stephen Algeo was arrested for investigation of attempted murder and and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $1 million. The investigation is ongoing and Deputy Crowl asked for anyone with information related to the investigation to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Station at 760-366-4175.
