YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTED MURDER

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Saturday on a warrant for attempted murder stemming from an assault on a woman on the Fourth of July. About 11:20 a.m. on the Fourth, a woman went to a home in the 7700 block of Valley Vista Avenue in Yucca Valley asking for help. She said her boyfriend, Alan Gilbert, 22, had choked her and tried to kill her during an argument. After an investigation, the district attorney’s office issued a warrant for Gilbert’s arrest, and deputies found him about 1 p.m. Saturday in the 58100 block of 29 Palms Highway. Alan Gilbert was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and on drug-related warrants, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $1,250,000.
