YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTED MURDER

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Wednesday morning, accused of attempting to stab another man. According to a Sheriff’s report, Jeremy Magness, 23, went to a home in the 7300 block of Frontera Avenue about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday and confronted a man at the home about an earlier argument. A fight ensued between the two men, until another resident broke up the altercation. Magness then went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife and cut his own arm and neck. He then raised the knife over his head and threatened the man, who went into his bedroom and locked the door. Magness allegedly tried to gain entrance into the room by attacking the door with his knife. When deputies arrived, Magness was fighting with another resident in the front yard. Jeremy Magness was arrested for investigation of attempted murder, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $1 million.
