YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTED MURDER

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday, accused of attempted murder. Morongo Basin deputies were called to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs about 1:30 a.m. Friday for a domestic violence report. Deputies learned that over a period of several days, Aaron Hancock, 36, had beat the victim with a golf club, baseball bat, crow bar, and stabbed her with a pocket knife. When Hancock fell asleep, the victim was able to flee the residence in the 57500 block of Warren Way in Yucca Valley. Deputies located Hancock about 5:30 Friday morning near Sierra Way and Old Woman Springs Road. Aaron Hancock was arrested for investigation of attempted murder, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $1 million.
