A Yucca Valley man was arrested Sunday, accused of attacking his elderly mother. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 1600 block of Wamego Trail in Yucca Valley about 11:30 for an argument between John Nobles, 28, and his mother. During the argument, the woman told deputies that Nobles grabbed her by the throat, punched her in the face with his closed fist, and threatened to hurt her. The woman told deputies she defended herself by scratching him with her keys. She also said she had a restraining order against Nobles. After an investigation, John Nobles was arrested on suspicion of elderly abuse, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
