A Yucca Valley man was arrested Thursday, after he allegedly fought with a law enforcement officer. Deputies were called to the 58400 block of Diadem Avenue just before 1 p.m. Thursday. The resident said that Richard Avila, 51, was angry and breaking items, which were valued at more than $1,000. Avila had fled the scene When deputies arrived, but he later returned. When Deputies attempted to talk to Avila, he reportedly walked away and then became combative, punching a deputy multiple times before he was restrained. Richard Avila was arrested for investigation of battery against a law enforcement officer, vandalism, resisting arrest, and violating his post-release community supervision. Avila was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000.
