YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ASSAULTING A POLICE OFFICER

A Yucca Valley man was arrested early Monday after he shoved a Sheriff’s deputy. According to Sheriff’s reports, the man, identified as Westley Arnot, 48, called 9-1-1 about 2:30 a.m. for a report of domestic violence and help in removing his girlfriend from his property. When deputies arrived at the home in the 59100 block of Nelson Avenue, Arnot met them behind his screen door, yelled at them to get off his property, and then opened the door and shoved a deputy. Two other deputies then subdued Arnot without further incident. Westley Arnot was arrested for investigation of assault on a police officer, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
