A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday (June 2) night, accused of assault with a deadly weapon. According to Sheriff’s records, Deputies responded around 6 p.m. to the 7100 block of Apache Avenue in Yucca Valley for a report of an assault. The victim told deputies that Paul Smith, 52 of Yucca Valley was throwing rocks at both him and his vehicle, causing approximately $1,000 in damages. Responding deputies located Smith on the Scene. Smith got on a bicycle and fled the scene, but was soon detained by the Sheriffs. Smith was positively identified by the victim. Paul Smith was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, felony vandalism, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his total bail set at $150,000.
