YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED IN STRONGARM ROBBERY OF HOT DOGS

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday, accused of strong arm robbery. According to a Sheriff’s report, Michael Matson, 41, walked into the gas station convenience store in the 56200 block of 29 Palms Highway about 9:30 p.m. Thursday and grabbed a hot dog. When Matson was confronted by the store employee, Matson asked the clerk, “what are you going to do about it?” and then hit the clerk’s arm while trying to smack the phone out of his hand. Matson then fled with six hot dogs. Sheriff’s deputies got a warrant and Michael Matson was arrested about 9 a.m., booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
