YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED IN DUI REAR END CRASH IN MORONGO VALLEY

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Saturday evening in Morongo Valley after he rear-ended another vehicle while allegedly driving drunk. About 8:05 p.m., Woden Taggart-Chimitt, 33, was driving a 2003 GMC Yukon eastbound on Highway 62 in Morongo Valley when he failed to notice a 2015 Jeep Cherokee in front of him had stopped for a red light at Senilis Avenue. The California Highway Patrol says that due to Taggart-Chimitt’s level of intoxication and unsafe speed, the crashed into the rear of the Jeep, driven by Enrique DeLeon Haro, 41, of Chula Vista.  Haro and his passenger, Rosemary Haro, 61, also of Chula Vista, suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Woden Taggart-Chimitt was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injuries, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000.
