A Yucca Valley man was taken into custody Friday, June 3 after investigators say he used social media to try to lure a minor into a sexual contact. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Sunday (May 29) at about 6:00 pm Deputies assigned to work in the town of Yucca Valley responded to a report that Charles McCormick, 72, was soliciting a 14-year-old girl. Deputies arrived and began the investigation which indicated McCormick had made sexual solicitations to the underage female. On Friday at about 1:00 p.m. , Deputies arrested Charles McCormick in his home in the 7000 Block of Dumosa for investigation off felony contact of a minor. McCormick was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000.00.
