YUCCA VALLEY LIGHT PARADE CALLED A HUGE SUCCESS

Organizers from the Yucca Valley Rotary Club said the 18th Annual Festival of Lights Parade was a huge success. Spokesperson Cynthia Kraemer said large crowds along the parade route and several hundred kids came to see Santa and the puppet show. She thanked the Hi-Desert Water District who hosted the event at the location, Southern California Edison for the main parade sponsor, Z107.7 Radio parade announcers, Hi-Desert Publishing as a media sponsor, the Yucca Valley Chamber, Yucca Valley Shriners, and members of Yucca Valley Rotary who donated time, talents and money to put this event on. Kraemer also thanked the over 25 entries who made the parade so special. She said the floats and entries were amazing this year.

Parade trophy winners were: Most Original for unique and creative use of lights and good planning: Morongo Basin Home Schoolers; Best Costumes: The Yucca Valley Youth Commission; Most Humorous (you made us laugh and smile): Sandy Paws Dog Groomers; Best Spirit (What the Holiday spirit is all about): Valley Community Chapel School; Pride of the Parade: Southern California Edison.
