The Yucca Valley High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team lost to Desert Hot Springs 8-10 yesterday (September 26). In Singles, Carleigh Fraser won 6-2, 6-4, and 6-0. Arielle Guthrie won 6-0 and lost a close match in a tie breaker 6-7 (5-7).
In doubles: Madison Dillon and Zyn Fimr continue their dominance play with a 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.
Coach Cindy Miller described the game as a “great battle,” and said that the girls will be looking forward to a rematch late in the season.
The team will face Desert Mirage on Wednesday (September 28) at home. Start time will be 4:00.
The Twentynine Palms High School Varsity Ladycats tennis team hosted the Rajahs of Indio on Monday (September 26).
The Ladycats lost to 4 to 14. In singles action, Corey Watt won two sets. Carly Bateman won one set. In doubles action, the team of Kairi Scott and Tomi Toyama won one set.
The Ladycats are now 6-2.
The Ladycats will host Cathedral City on Wednesday (September 28), and travel to Cathedral City on Thursday (September 29).
