The Yucca Valley Lady Trojan varsity basketball team finished the first half of their Desert Valley League season with a 69-43 victory at Desert Hot Springs High School on Wednesday (January 10). The win improved the teams record to 7-0 in league play and 16-4 on the season overall.
Senior Cadence Tarrant scored a season high 35 points and pulled down 14 rebounds. She was followed by juniors CeCe Gilmore and Tayla Monroy who each tallied 11 points. Gilmore grabbed 12 rebounds and Monroy hit 3 three point baskets. Freshman Kamea Medina came off the bench to score 7 points and fellow freshman Nahveah Baclig added 5 points. Sophomore Lyrics Thompson rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
The team travels to Indio High School tomorrow (January 12) for their next league match up. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m.
