Yucca Valley Lady Trojan Basketball win 10th straight game

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan basketball team won their 10th straight game Thursday afternoon (January 5) scoring a 74-7 victory at Cathedral City HS in a Desert Valley League contest.

Using a balanced attack from the opening tip the Yucca girls were able to take a 53-5 lead at halftime with every girl on the team scoring points.

Senior Malia Ulery pumped in a game high 25 points, she was followed by sophomore Tayla Monroy who hit 3 three point baskets on her way to scoring 15 points. Freshman Teagan Moon knocked down a season high 9 points while senior Julia Castillo, senior Ashley Lowe and sophomore CeCe Gilmore each scored 6 points. Junior Cadence Tarrant added 5 points and pulled down 9 rebounds while senior Jaylie Schreiber netted 2 points to complete the scoring.

The win improved the Lady Trojans league record to 6-0 and overall record to 14-4. The team travels to Northview HS in Covina on Saturday for a tough non conference match up versus Los Altos High School from Hacienda Heights. Tip off is 1045am.
