The Yucca Valley Trojan Junior Varsity volleyball team defeated the Desert Hot Springs Eagles in two sets, 25-16 and 25-22.
Coach Celeste Hilderbrand said the Trojans’ serving was impressive, with multiple players having ace serves, including junior captains Brianna Etter and Amanda Cruz and sophomore Peyton Cressy, with three each. Freshman Madison Lazarovitz came on as a serving specialist and had one ace serve. Hilderbrand said, “The team demonstrated a diehard desire to keep the ball from hitting the floor with freshman libero Desiree Loya controlling the backcourt. Showing aggressive offense and attacking from all positions on the court were freshmen Carly Brimhall, Mary Lovejoy, and Leilani Liechti, sophomores Paige Van Hulten and Peyton Cressy, and juniors Amanda Cruz, Brianna Etter, and Briana Adams.”
