Yucca Valley house fire started in kitchen

County Fire responded to a report of a kitchen fire in Yucca Valley that burned well into the night.

At around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5 County crews responded from Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree along with one engine from Cal Fire to a resident in the 7000 block of Sioux Ave in Yucca Valley. They say they found a well-involved fire, but were able to knock the main portion of the fire down relatively quickly. A search of the area found no occupants inside the residence, and no injuries were reported.

County Fire says a fire investigator was called and worked late into the night, but that the fire cause has not yet been determined.
