Open to all ages, Yucca Valley Recreation will host the Sunrise 5K Run and 2K Walk on Saturday, August 14, starting at 6:30 a.m., rain or shine. The paved trail loop is at Machris Park, 59100 Santa Barbara Drive in Yucca Valley.
The 5K Run (3.1 miles) is chip-timed and the top male and female runners will be awarded, in addition to top finishers in each age division; the 2K walk is non-competitive.
Registration begins August 10 for $25 but those who register on or before August 9 will get a discounted entry fee of $20 per person, express check-in at the race, and a souvenir race t-shirt. Onsite registration and check-in will begin at 5:45 a.m. on race day.
