The Yucca Valley Town Council announced at the conclusion of its special, closed session meeting last night that it intends to hire a new full-service legal firm in place of Lona Laymon, an attorney with Aleshire and Wynder, who has represented the town for more than 7 ½ years. Last fall, the town council requested a review of the town’s legal services, and over the past several months has conducted interviews with many law firms. Last night, the council announced it has selected Thomas Jex and Erica Vega of Burke, Williams, and Sorenson, as the town attorney and assistant town attorney. The selection must be approved at the next town council meeting on February 6.
