Yucca Valley High School opened their wrestling season with a dual meet against Shadow Hills High School last night (November 14).
Though the team lost, every wrestler gave each match their all. The girls team, who was missing five of the 12 team members, fought hard against a tough Shadow Hills girls team. Lacy Tavzel showed her leader ship. JV boys did very well with 9 boys all having their first matches for their high school career. The boys varsity was led by last year’s returners Ayden O’Brien, David Gutierrez, Stephan Rogers, and David Maya, each of whom pinned their opponents.
