Saturday, the Yucca Valley High School Wrestling team went to the Desert Valley league finals. As a result, they will be taking seven girls and eight boys to CIF wrestling tournament.
Coach Patrick Francis said Genesis Rialmo is still undefeated, taking first place in the league at 121 pounds. Christmas Shannon and Dyoni Smith also took first in league. Destiny Carranza, Adelina Rialmo, Miah Weldon, and Jessica Garcia took second in league. Ryan Alexander took third in league.
For the boys Anthony Stolting, John Cruz, and Jeremy Land took second league. Spencer Carranza and Timothy Harris took third in league. Olivio Cicero, Dice Marchioni, and Elijah Nicely Took fourth in league.
The girls will compete at Hillcrest High School on February 15. The boys will compete at Carter High School on February 14 and 15.
