The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan volleyball teams had their awards banquet Sunday, December 7, in the school’s multi-purpose room. The awards given out were Most Improved: freshman Lily Murillo; Emily Vigrass in junior varsity; and Haley Rayburn in varsity. Most valuable player for offense: freshman Zena Yakimow; Kyley Beatty for JV; and Ashley Schwartz, for varsity. Most valuable player, defense: freshman Savanna Fowlkes; Jackie Bohla, junior varsity; and Chloe Smith, varsity. Karson Scaccianoce was awarded most inspirational player, and Ashley Priest received the Coach’s Award. Named to the DeAnza League were Ashley Priest, first team; Becky Messaros, second team; and Chloe Smith, honorable mention. Scholar athletes are freshmen Caitlin Rowe, Kloee Scaccianoce, and Zena Yakimow; sophomore Nichole Sugita; and seniors Haley Rayburn and Karson Scaccianoce.
