More than 50 students, coaches, and parents of students attended MUSD’s special meeting last night to give input on Yucca Valley High School’s new track and field improvement project. A majority of public comment was in support of the project. However, some individuals commented on the safety of Yucca Valley High School’s stadium bleachers. Board members stated that the replacement of the Yucca Valley High School bleachers will have to be addressed as a separate project using future funding. At the end of the meeting, the board voted to authorize the modernization of the Yucca Valley High School track and field and the purchase of the synthetic field turf surfaces.
