A Yucca Valley High School senior is one of 34,000 students nationwide who is being recognized for his exceptional academic promise in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship program. Josiah Gouker was named a Commended Student, an honor he earned by achieving a qualifying score in the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship test in the fall of 2016.
