Yucca Valley High School Soccer scores from 1/3

The Yucca Valley High School Boys Soccer teams played a league game at Desert Mirage High School last night (January 3).

Junior Varsity lost 12 to 0. Tim Wahlberg had 6 saves and Joshua Cordova had 7 saves. Coach Jorge Rodriguez said, ”The player of the game was Defender Leonel Morelos, for always playing hard and never giving up.” He also praised the two goalkeepers.

Varsity lost 5 to 1. Anthony Morando scored the only goal from a direct free shot from about mid field, right over the keepers hands. Coach Rodriguez named the player of the game as Freshman Midfielder Ben Carlton, who the Coach said “never gave up and showed our teammates what commitment and hard work looks like. Ben is a good example of what Trojan Soccer is all about.”

Yucca Valley High School will host Cathedral City High School’s varsity soccer team tomorrow (January 5)

Varsity plays at 5:30 PM, there will be no junior varsity match as Cathedral City has no junior varsity team.
