YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL LOOKING FOR A NEW FOOTBALL COACH

Yucca Valley High School is once again seeking a head coach for its football program after the unexpected resignation of head Coach John Stewart. Coach John Stewart

Individuals interested in becoming the new head football coach for Yucca Valley high school must possess a valid California Clearance Certification, a valid USA First Aid and CPR certification, and must complete the CIF Coaching Certification Course and all supplementary safety certifications.

The position has been advertised through teaching and coaching networks online. An interview committee comprised of school administrators, the athletic director, teachers, parents, and other school personnel is being assembled to review applicants by mid-May, with the hope of make a recommendation for the new coach to the MUSD Board of Education by the beginning of June.

The Yucca Valley Trojan football program has had five head coaches since 2003.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a valid California Clearance Certification
  • Must possess a valid USA First Aid and CPR certification
  • Must meet the qualification standards as put forth in Title V
  • Must be fingerprinted
  • Must pass a TB Test
  • Must complete the CIF Coaching Certification Course (and all supplementary safety certifications)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of rules and regulations of the sport at the high school level
  • Need to have knowledge of the rules and guidelines of CIF, Morongo Unified, De Anza League, and YVHS policies and procedures.
  • Must demonstrate a knowledge of coaching techniques and strategies concerning the sport
  • Previous coaching experience is preferred
  • A dynamic personality is preferred
  • Must be able to relate to high school students, staff, and community
  • Needs to demonstrate and verify the ability and skill to organize and prepare for athletics
  • Must recognize the liability of athletics
  • Must demonstrate the ability to promote the student athlete
  • Involvement in fund raising activities is preferred
  • Experience working with booster or community organizations
