YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL LADY TROJAN BASKETBALL RESULTS

The Yucca Valley Lady Trojan basketball notched their third win in a row with a 59-22 victory over the Indio Rajahs Thursday night in Trojan Gym. Coach Jess Geeson said Sophomore Sara Mills led the team with 23 points and 5 steals. She was followed by senior Angie Reutgen who poured in 17 points. Junior Makayla Geeson added 5 points while senior Coy Smith was strong on the defensive end pulling down 11 rebounds and gathering 7 steals.

The team upped its Desert Valley League record to 7-3 and overall record to 13-8 on the season. The girls travel to Desert Hot Springs next Tuesday for their next game. Tip time is 6 pm.

Coach Michael Usher Twentynine Palms High School’s 77-69 victory over Desert Hot Springs gives them sole possession of 2nd place in league led by Junior Troy Tuivaiti with 23 points, Jaylan Bradberry with 18 points and 7 rebounds, and Senior Tarion Napolean with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The win sets up a big matchup next Tuesday the 22nd with undefeated league leading Indio at home in the Richard Casey Memorial Gymnasium. The WIldcats also travel to play Oceanview high school this Saturday in the Palm Springs Desert Showcase.

JV won 81-46, improving to 10-4 behind Seth Wilford and Jeremiah Holmes with 14 points each, Alex Burns with 12 points, and Josh Herne with 10.

Frosh Soph won 65-35.

A balanced attack that saw four players in double figures. Sophomore Quinton Hibler led the way with 16 points and 27 rebounds, followed by Patrick Garza with 13, Jordan Johnson with 12, and Jaylen Sewell with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Frosh Soph improves to 9-0 on the season, and play next on Tuesday at home against Indio.
