Congratulations to Yucca Valley High School Trojan girls’ wrestler Vanessa Contreras for winning the 116-pound weight class at Friday and Saturday’s CIF Southern Section Finals at Roosevelt High School in Riverside. Wrestling Coach Brandon Whitbred said with the win, Vanessa Contreras qualifies to compete in the California Girls’ State Championships February 28 through March 1 in Visalia.
