The Yucca Valley High School Girls Soccer team hosted Desert Hot Springs High School Tuesday in De Anza League play. Desert Hot Springs struck first, scoring on an early goal. The Lady Trojans fought hard and went into halftime down 1-0. The second half saw the Lady Trojans take control of the game and sophomore Teresa Nava scored on a great assist from fellow sophomore Amy Priest to tie the game at 1-1. The regulation ended with a 1-1 score and forced overtime. Girls’ Varsity Soccer Coach Scott Phillips said “Unfortunately, in the second overtime, Desert Hot Springs was able to get the game winning goal and won 2-1. The Lady Trojans travel to Twentynine Palms High School tomorrow. The game starts at 3:15 p.m. with the Varsity Boys’ game to follow at 5 p.m
