YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL OPENS SEASON WITH A WIN

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan basketball team tipped off their season last night with a 68-33 win over La Sierra of Riverside in the West Valley Mustang tournament in Hemet. Coach Jess Geeson said the tournament continues today with a 4:30 p.m. game against Redlands East Valley.
Junior guard Savannah Beasley led the balanced attack with 17 points, sophomore Angie Reutgen added 15 points and junior Kloee Scaccionoce chipped in 11 points.
Leading 29-20 at the half, the Yucca girls held the Eagles to two points in the third quarter while putting up 21 points to put the game out of reach.
Junior Keilah Dillon came off the bench to net nine points while junior Kiley Pitts notched seven points and grabbed six rebounds.
