YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ BASKETBALL END AN 8-1 SEASON

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans fell 53-42 in a CIF Division 3AA quarterfinal game against Chaparral HS Wednesday night in Temecula.

Coach Jess Geeson said after struggling to shoot from the outside all evening the Yucca girls fell behind 18-7 in the first quarter and were never able to get closer than 6 points late in the fourth quarter as they finished the season with a 8-1 record.

Sophomore Malia Ulery led the scoring with 14 points, freshman Cadence Tarrant came off the bench to add 7 points and junior Maliah Rodriguez chipped in 6 points. Junior Chloe McNellie hit for 5 points despite a sprained ankle and senior Sara Mills netted 4 points.
