Today is the closing of the Yucca Valley High School theater company’s dark comedy, “Frank’s Life.” Reporter Rebecca Havely offers this summary of the production…
High school senior Madison Curtiss directs “Frank’s Life” by Mark Dunn, the play that inspired the film “The Truman Story.” Frank’s entire life has actually been the setting of a television soap opera. The unsuspecting Frank, confidently portrayed by Tyler Geeson, has no idea his entire life has been a lie. His best friend, played by Nicolas Geogea, and his wife Shelly, played by Katelynn Bergman, can’t wait to play their next roles. Network exec Ms. Pruit played by Rachel Wuerth informs the cast that ratings are low and their pay’s been cut. His best friend’s wife played by Madelynn Nimmo plans to make a pass at him to boost ratings. His soap Mom played by Aimee Frank is furious. Joy, his mentally unstable sister, played by Mariah Muchtar, forgets her meds and starts dropping hints that “Frank’s Life” is not what he thinks.
