The Yucca Valley High School Varsity Trojans football team lost a close battle Thursday to the Coachella Valley High School Arabs, 28-29. The game was a nail biter in which both teams played hard. The loss brings the varsity record to 6-1 overall and 1-1 in league.
On the defensive side of the ball, Joseph Jennings led the team with nine tackles. Chris Worrell added eight tackles of his own.
On offense, the Trojans had a total of 421 yards for the night. The team was led by quarterback Elijah Lynch, who completed 11 passes for 122 yards and one touchdown. He also had 20 carries for 222 yards and two touchdowns. Albert Montes-Reyes and Caleb Robinson combined for an additional 9 catches and 140 yards.
The junior varsity Trojans lost a hard-fought battle to Coachella Valley, 52-46. The loss puts their record 6-1, 1-1 in league play.
