YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL COACH RESIGNS

After one season as the head football coach at Yucca Valley High School, JD Thompson has resigned his coaching position at the high school effective immediately for undisclosed, personal reasons. Thompson guided the Trojans to a winning season and CIF Southern Section playoff appearance in 2018. The Morongo Unified School District and Yucca Valley High School administration will advertise for the vacant coaching position and begin the review and selection process for head coach. The school anticipates recommending a new candidate to the board of education by April 2019. Off-season conditioning and training workouts for high school football players will continue with school staff as players prepare for next season.
