YUCCA VALLEY GOLFERS TAKE HIGH HONORS IN CIF COMPETITION

The Desert Valley League held a two-day, 36-hole tournament this week for 37 golfers—including seven players from Yucca Valley High School—to determine league awards and who will represent the DVL in CIF competition. Two Trojans will go on to the next level.

Yucca Valley golfer Josh Pierce placed first in the DVL golf finals tournament on Thursday. The freshman posted a two-day score of 160 and was awarded the league golf MVP.

Yucca Valley golfer Gauge Kime turned in the lowest 18-hole score of the tournament (76) on Thursday and earned a third-place finish.

Yucca Valley golfer Larry Tyerman posted a two-day total of 173 and came in fifth place.

Pierce, Kime, and Tyerman were awarded First Team All-League Honors.

Yucca Valley golfer Luke Yakimow posted a two day total of 182 and finished eighth.

Yucca Valley golfer Mason Palanuik posted a two-day total of 193 and placed twelfth.

Yakimow and Palanuik earned second team All-League Honors.

Yucca Valley golfer Marissa Lindley carded a two-day total of 201 and earned All-League Honorable Mention.

Josh Pierce and Gauge Kime will advance to the CIF Individual Championship Tournament on Monday, May 6, at Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside.
