YUCCA VALLEY GOLF DEFEATS TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL

The Yucca Valley High School golf team defeated Twentynine Palms High School Tuesday by a score of 227-249 and finish the season undefeated, 12-0. This means the Trojans are the undisputed 2019 Desert Valley League boys’ golf team champions.

The Yucca Valley golf team was led by Gauge Kime (42), Josh Pierce (42), and Larry Tyerman (43).

Coach Jeff Evans said “The victory today extended the Yucca Valley golf team’s consecutive winning streak to 17 matches. The coaching staff is extremely proud of how our players have maintained their focus and competitive spirit during the consecutive streak.”

He added, “Winning the DVL title outright is also a big achievement for this team since it was one of our main goals at the start of the season. This is the second consecutive season in which the Yucca Valley golf team will represent the league.”

The CIF team championship will be held in Chino Hills on May 13. The Trojans are now 22-1 overall and finished DVL play undefeated at 12-0. Next up for the Trojans is Rancho Mirage High School. The match will be played at Hawks Landing on Thursday, April 25. The match is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
