The Yucca Valley High School Varsity Trojan Football team came away with an impressive 41-6 victory in their season-opener game against the Lancaster Eagles Saturday (August 28). The Junior Varsity team also came away with a victory of 14-0. The Trojans will travel to Moreno Valley this week to take on the Canyon Springs Cougars.

The Yucca Valley Trojans Football team traveled three hours one way by bus to Lancaster California for their season opener. The Trojans beat the Eagles 41-6.
The Trojans had 388 yards of offense and dominated the time of possession. Michael Ramos was 9 for 14 for 114 yards passing and threw 3 touchdown passes. Sophomore Running Back Stephon Rogers, rushed for 220 yards on 24 carries. Demar Smith caught two Touchdown passes, Javin Hudson caught one touchdown pass, and Austin Dickens, Michael Ramos, and Stephon Rogers each had a rushing Touchdown.
Offensive line standouts were Jaden Thouchalanh and Angel Miramontes with some solid blocking up front.
The Trojan Defense, led by team captain Garrett Slayden, shut down Lancaster all night. Slayden had 4 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Andres Rodriguez-Alcaraz had 5 tackles, Austin Dickens, Ben Casillas, and Seth Storm each had 4 tackles. Ben Casillas also picked up a fumble and ran for 35 yards.
The Frosh-Soph beat the Eagles 14-0. Billy Philips caught a Touchdown pass from Quarterback Noah Hall and Evelyn Moreno recovered a fumble for a Touchdown. Offensive line standouts were Aiden Solis Beath and Noah Bren. Defensive standouts were Gabe Morones, Teagan Lesko, and Brendon Taylor.
The Trojans will travel to Moreno Valley, CA to take on the Canyon Springs Cougars this week. The Frosh-Soph will play on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. and the Varsity will play on Friday at 7 p.m.
