In high school sports, the Yucca Valley High School Trojan varsity football team travelled to Coachella Valley to play their first league game. They won 21-14 with a touchdown by Braden Brimhall with 15 seconds to play.
Coach John Stewart said the offense had 2 other touchdowns by Tayten Shartel and Cole Davis.
The defense had four interceptions by Ushon Goodson, Makoa Kakalia, Kris Brady and Warren Higgins. They also had one fumble recovery by Makoa Kakalia. Stewart said the players are looking forward to their home game against Banning High School next week.
